The
dialogue of life is a challenge in discussions of religious and philosophical
traditions in the world. The International Labour Organisation also considers
it necessary to instil the right to decent work as an element of social justice
and participation in ethics and philosophical traditions of the world. Therefore
it promotes an interreligious dialogue on this subject, and initiated a
dialogue of the world religions in which, among other participants, the German
Commission for Justice and Peace took part. The results of this dialogue are
published in the ILO document Convergences: decent work and social justice
in religious traditions. The ILO handbook provides an orientation for the ILO
country offices in promoting the ‘Decent Work’ concept.
