A climate policy which does justice to development

Overcoming poverty and social injustice is the guiding principle also for designing a climate policy which is conducive to and coherent with development policy. Hence, the Commission analyses questions concerning a sustainable and climate friendly energy supply and the mitigation of the effects of climate change on marginalized and poor population groups and disadvantaged countries. Climate protection and the fight against poverty may not be played off against one another.
