A Just Peace

After a process of reflection lasting several years, the German bishops in 2000 published a comprehensive statement on peace in which they developed the fundamentals of the church teachings on peace. The “Just Peace” statement thus became the orientation framework on peace ethics for church practice in Germany. In the following years, the considerations exposed in “A Just Peace” time and again served as a basis for further actualization and concretization.
